For massage therapists:
Our workshop series for bodyworkers focuses on building the presence of the practitioner, and the ability to work from an embodied place. Combining ontological coaching principles and concepts with a non-violent approach to both light and deep touch work, we will learn how to facilitate spontaneous movement toward health and integrity in the people receiving our touch.
For movement professionals:
If you are a yoga instructor, dancer, NIA instructor, fitness trainer or other movement professional seeking to bring your work to a more holistic, embodied place we offer training to support you. We know that you already effect the emotional, psychological and social aspects of your clients, and offer workshops aimed to make this work conscious, responsible and effective. We will help you deepen your client relationships and and strengthen the foundation of your work.
For those wanting a more embodied life:
Many people are seeking a way to live that is more in touch with their bodies; with a greater sensitivity to the wisdom within. If this is true of you, or the statement makes you curious we offer short experiential workshops to help you get in touch with your body and find your way home.
We offer individuals the opportunity to become embodied, to reclaim their full movement potential and expressive capacity, and relieve chronic pain.
We offer students and professionals in the bodywork and movement fields comprehensive education opportunities based in Ontological Bodywork. The Center of Body Ontology Studies (COBOS) focuses on providing a diverse education platform that meets the needs of all student learning styles.
Currently COBOS offers individual Ontological Bodywork focused on personal growth, student mentorship, continuing education workshops, and experiential on-line curriculum.
Ontological Bodywork rests on three basic ideas: our bodies are always acting in our best interests, we will move toward health spontaneously given awareness and support, and there is no such thing as an exclusively physical condition. Each session is unique to the individual receiving it, and combines ontological principles, deep listening to the body and over 17 years of massage experience.
